Address

The ArcelorMittal Orbit is an unconventional structure of twisting red steel wrapped around a central tower. Its irregular lattice creates a striking contrast with the cleaner lines of the surrounding modern buildings, while the strong colour and unusual silhouette make it effective both as an isolated architectural subject and as part of a wider urban composition.

Different viewpoints cause the overlapping steelwork to change considerably in shape and density, making the structure particularly suited to abstract and geometric photographs. Looking upwards from nearby emphasises its scale and complexity, while more distant positions reveal its distinctive outline against the skyline of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
