Address

Ben Macdui is the second-highest mountain in the United Kingdom and forms part of the vast upland landscape of the Cairngorms. Rather than a sharp isolated peak, much of its character comes from broad plateaux, exposed granite, sweeping slopes and the sense of scale created by the surrounding high mountains.

The open terrain lends itself to wide landscape compositions, particularly when cloud, snow or changing light adds definition to the otherwise subtle contours. Granite boulders, mountain paths and patches of vegetation can provide foreground detail, while winter conditions can reduce the landscape to stark combinations of rock, snow and sky.
