Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge is a narrow suspended footbridge spanning a deep sea chasm between the mainland cliffs and the small rocky island of Carrickarede. The 20-metre crossing hangs about 30 metres above the water. Its changing designs reflect a fishing tradition that once exploited migrating salmon passing the coast in large numbers.
