Address

Foxton Locks forms a steep staircase of ten canal locks surrounded by towpaths, bridges and surviving traces of the inclined plane. Repeating gates, brickwork, water channels and working boats provide strong industrial patterns, while lock operation adds people and movement for documentary photographs. The elevated setting also opens views across the Leicestershire countryside, especially when early or late light catches the water between the gates.
