Gartmorn Dam is a broad reservoir edged by woodland, reed beds and paths, with the Ochil Hills rising beyond the water. Calm mornings offer reflections and misty minimalist scenes, while the reserve supports waterbirds and changing seasonal habitats. Its origins in supplying water to local mining operations add an industrial layer to an otherwise natural-looking landscape, giving photographers several distinct ways to interpret the site.
