Malham Cove is a huge curved limestone amphitheatre carved by meltwater at the end of the last ice age, its sheer eighty metre face rising above a flat valley floor near the village of Malham. A limestone pavement of deeply fissured clints and grikes tops the cove, reached by a steep path, giving wide views back down Malhamdale.
