Worcester Cathedral is a large riverside church combining a Norman crypt and chapter house with Gothic nave, choir, cloisters and a tall central tower. His Norman crypt survives beneath later work, and the church records a long transition from Romanesque to Gothic architecture. Medieval rebuilding, Civil War damage and substantial Victorian restoration all contributed to its present form.
