Address

Duffus Castle rises above the flat Moray countryside on a steep artificial mound, its broken stone keep forming a striking silhouette. A fallen section of masonry gives the ruin an unusually fractured outline, while the earthworks and surrounding fields create clean foreground shapes. Low light emphasises the slopes and textures, and the open setting makes the castle particularly effective beneath dramatic cloud or a broad evening sky.
