Address

Grosvenor Square was planned in the 1720s as the centrepiece of a new Mayfair estate developed by the Grosvenor family. Estate surveyor Thomas Barlow laid out the surrounding grid of streets, while the central garden evolved from John Alston's early 'wilderness' design of intersecting paths, trees and shrubs. Its landscape has been repeatedly redesigned over the following three centuries.
