Hammersmith Bridge is an ornate green-painted suspension bridge with decorative cast-iron towers and gilded details. Its wrought-iron structure is unusually ornate, with monumental towers, decorative cast iron, gilding and heraldry. The bridge has undergone repeated strengthening as traffic loads increased.
