Address

Southwark Bridge crosses the Thames on five green-painted steel arches supported by granite-faced river piers. Built between 1912 and 1921, it uses five steel arch spans designed by engineers Mott & Hay with Sir Ernest George as architect. Granite-faced river piers and restrained ornament give the engineering a formal civic character.
