A broad tidal beach at the northern end of Barra that doubles as the runway for scheduled aircraft serving Barra Airport. Aircraft landing directly on wet sand against an Outer Hebridean coastal backdrop create unusually distinctive opportunities for aviation, documentary, landscape and environmental photography.
