Westminster Abbey is a vast Gothic church of pointed arches, flying buttresses, pinnacles and twin west towers, with a richly vaulted medieval interior. Henry III began rebuilding it in the Gothic style in 1245 around the shrine of St Edward. The long building campaign produced the soaring church that has served as Britain's coronation church since 1066.
