Vauxhall Bridge is a five-span steel arch bridge distinguished by eight large bronze figures mounted on its granite piers, representing subjects including architecture, engineering, agriculture and science. Engineers Alexander Binnie and Maurice Fitzmaurice designed its five steel arches, while the river piers carry monumental bronze figures by Alfred Drury and Frederick Pomeroy representing arts, sciences and industry. It was also the first Thames bridge to carry trams.
